D.A.V. Degree College, Lucknow

DAV Degree College, Aishbagh Road, Moti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is one of the very old and prestigious College of Lucknow. It was established in July 1918 in Ganeshganj locality of old Lucknow as DAV College, by renowned and most popular social worker of that time Late Pandit Rhas Bihari Tiwari Ji, in the form of a Middle School. In the year 1920, this College was upgraded to High School. In the year 1942, this College was further upgraded to Intermediate level. After the demise of respected Pandit Rhas Behari Tiwari Ji, a very erudite and learned advocate Sri Bhrigu Dutt Tiwari Ji became the Manager of this prestigious institution. In fact, advocate Sri Bhrigu Dutt Tiwari Ji was both a social worker as well as a freedom fighter. Under the able guidance of Sri Bhrigu Dutt Tiwari Ji, DAV Degree College was established in the year 1948. The DAV Degree College initially established its Science faculty in 1948. In the year 1954 Arts faculty was established and many departments like Political Science Sociology, Hindi, English, Ancient Indian History, Economics etc was started. In the session 1972-1973, the LL.B. 3 Year Degree Course Classes was started under the supervision and guidance of Sri Manmohan Tiwari Ji, our present Manager, who is a renowned personality and social worker of Lucknow.
